A policeman told us we would have to turn back because the road was blocked.

To jest prawidłowa odpowiedź. A nie ,,had to”.

will have to -> would have to

*A policeman told us we would have to turn back because the road was blocked.
( Zapomniałam poprawić had na have bo skopiowałam tekst z ćwiczenia ups)

10. A policeman says: "You will have to turn back because the road is blocked."
A policeman told us we would had to turn back because the road was blocked.
5 lat i dalej to zdanie pozostawione samo sobie... will zmienia sie na would poprawcie to w końcu

Trochę mało tych ćwiczeń. Czuję niedosyt :)

Jesteście super!

bardzo super ćwiczenia, 10/10 polecam

Poprawiam się - mój błąd. Shall zmienia się w should.

W przypadku przykładu 8 zamiast should nie powinno być would? Jako to, że wyraz shall jest ściśle powiązany z will?

Dobry zestaw

Zgadzam się z leax - powinno być "would have to", bo samo "have" nie jest tam czasownikiem operacyjnym, by je zmieniać - jest nim za to "will" i zgodnie z tzw. cofaniem czasu, powinno być zmienione na would właśnie.

Thank you, ang.pl ~!! ٩(- ̮̮̃-̃)۶

określenie czasu to jest "will" cofamy o jeden czyli "would".

a mi sie wydaje, ze w 10 zdaniu powinno byc "have to". uzyte jest "will have to", a jeden czas w tyl to wlasnie "have to". czyz nie mam racji?

W 10 powinno być - You would have to turn back because the road is blocked Bo "will" się zmienia na "would".

Bo cofamy sie o jeden czas do tylu, czyli present perfect - have na czas zaprzeszly - had.

w reported speech have to zamieniamy na had to :)

dlaczego w 10 had to?
