Moi drodzy!
Jestem ambitnym siedemnastolatkiem, który musi wyjechać na stałe do Birmingham w te wakacje i właśnie tam kontynuować edukację, aż do podjęcia a-levels (matury), aż do dalszego pójścia na studia w Wlk. Brytanii. Poniższy list wysłałem do kilku instytucji i szkół.
Dear Sir/Madam,rnrnI am wrtiting to receive some bits of information concerning education inrnBirmingham for a 17/ 18-year-old boy knowing English, Spanish and Polish.rnI hope it would not be a problem for you to dedicate me some of yourrntime.rnrnThank you in advance for every single sentence which I shall find veryrnhelpful and which will shorten the distance to my expectations in comingrnto Great Britain in order to study.rnrnI am going to emigrate to England with the person I'm in love with in summer. I am going to live in England and continue highschool education to fulfil my dreams.
By june 2007 I will have finished last but one grade of High School Education in Poland. In my country an individual can take a maturity examination called 'Matura' (more sophisticated form ofrnA-levels, pointed mostly into encyclopedian knowledge) whan being 19-year-old, not like in UK, when being 18. To end this stage of myrneducation, at the end of this schoolyear, I will have still one gradernnecessary to take the final exam in Poland. I cannot do it in myrncountry for personal cause. I am a good student with good and excellent marks. Learning in Poland is not exhausting although one has to study all fifteen subjects (such asrnbiology, physics, maths, Polish, PE, French, German, culture and societyrnandrnstate defense knowledge, history, enterprise, religion etc.) up to his ninetees, even if one is in no interest of many of them. I hope in UK, when preparing to A-levels, I would not be obliged to waste my time in such way. I am interested in beind a naval and aeronautic and conventonal architect.
Do you mind estimating to me wchich form of Six Form College I would have to attend to and which subject I should choose? To take A-levels, is it possible for me to commit* just a one-year-course? [*used figuratively]
As an european union citizen I have the right to settle an learnrnwhereeverrnand whenever I want to. Many people e.g. from India come to England anyrntime of the year and send their children to schools because it isrnobligatory. Could you please tell me whether I am to sent to Six Form Colleges any kind of application form then? If yes, when am I to do it? ?rnWhat does te application have to look like? Do I have to send it 10 months before starting the grade? Will you also tell me if I would have to take examinations before being put to the proper level of education, please?
It would be OK for me to stay a grade or two longer to catch up English language skills, to adept myself into the British system of education. I think that my general knowledge of all the subjects is pretty substential and efficient, but I do not know if my English can help me to express all of my thoughts or not. What do you thing about it, sir/madam? Does one have to show a language certificate to learn at Six Form College? What refers to the Six Form College, does it cost anything for a 17/18 year-old? Is it difficult for a foreigner to study at this type of school?
Finaly, could you indicate me some Six Form Colleges located in the center of Birmingham?
Yours sincerely...
