list motywacyjny- czy ktos moglby sprawdzic??

Temat przeniesiony do archwium.
witam, napisalam list motywacyjny na summer school, ale nie jestem pewna czy jest ok. Bylabym wdzieczna, gdyby ktos mogl go sprawdzic i poprawic. pozdrawiam

Dear Sir or Madam,

With this letter, I’d like to express my aspiration for participation in *** Summer School on Nanosciences *** 2008.

My name is *** and I am a first year PhD student at Faculty of Physics at *** University. I graduated from *** University in 2005 with BSc in physics and obtained MSc in physics (majoring in medical physics) in July 2007. As my specialisation was a medical physics I have acquired a strong knowledge of physics and its applications in life science and medicine, chemistry, biochemistry and cell physiology. As my master’s thesis topic I chose Surface Enhanced Resonance Raman Spectrometry of crystal violet using silver and gold colloids as a enhancing factor. Working on my thesis gave me an opportunity to learn basics of optical spectroscopy and spectroscopic samples preparation. My main scientific interest is the combination of biology and physics, meeting in DNA studies using both Raman and atomic force microscopies. In my PhD project I am going to study radiation induced DNA damage using mainly AFM imaging plus SERRS and fluorescence techniques.

The main reason I am interested in participation in your summer school is its interdisciplinarity and the fact that lectures and practicals are strictly connected to AFM and Raman spectroscopy. That is why I apply for Session B and has chosen mostly AFM practicals. The most important practicals for me are:

· Force measurement with a micro mechanical oscillator based on tuning fork – the tunning fork is used widely in atomic force microscopy nowadays and it is a great opportunity to build it by myself,

· Initiation to Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) techniques – which is strictly connected to the mechanism of SERRS and optical studies of DNA,

· Recombinant protein production using automated liquid handling systems – we plan to do PCR in our lab and I want to learn this technique and see how the automated process from plasmid to protein is performed,

· Real-time monitoring of DNA hybridization, cleavage and repair processes by FRET on a EWOD fluidic microprocessor – I would like to learn about fluorescence techniques used to monitor DNA, because there is a possibility that I will use them in my project.

I am highly motivated to study and enthusiastic about learning new things. I work well as a team member, I am very reliable and organized. I am excited by the opportunity to attend your summer school where I can apply my skills and knowledge aquired during my education. Attending this event will be a great chance for me to and expand my horizons, learn new techniques and gain knowledge of nanotechnology, which is nowadays one of the fastest growing research fields. I am also looking forward to the networking opportunities generated by the diversity of people attending this summer school. I would be happy to work together with students and researchers from all over the world.

I thank you for considering my application and I am looking forward to receiving your decision.

Your sincerely,
