3 mountain climbers were stranded in the Alps after a heavy snowfall on December 20th.
9 of climbing enthusiasts started the ascent of Mount blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe on December 19th. Climbers were trekking in 3 groups of 3 people.
the missing men, john Thomson, 37, Jerry Brown, 31 and Thomas Green, 33 picked up the most popular route to climb- Voie Royale. "It's a very dangerous route because of frequent rock-falls", said John Timi, the search leader.
Other climbers lost contact with the men on Friday, December 20th about 5 p.m. "It was horrible. We didn't know what happened with our friends", said Terry Bike, a participant of expedition.
Authorities said that they still hoped to find climbers alive. "We're going to be looking for any little clues we can find". On Monday, rescuers made search flight over the mountain, but bad weather forced them to return. Searching must be call off until Tuesday because of heavy snowfall, extreme cold, high winds and low visibility.
Authorities said that searching will be continue when the weather conditions improve.
