zastanawiam sie nad poprawnym pytanie "czy to ty" uzywam zazwyczaj is it you? i nikt mnie nie poprawial,, ale szczerze mowiac mam mieszane uczucia co do tego zwrotu..

"It" and "that" is still quite mysterious to me. In this case I'd say: Is that you? but I can't tell why.....

'that' is a demonstrative. You hear something and you ask 'is that you?', 'that' meaning 'that murmur', 'that sound', etc.
That's my rationale for saying so in this situation.
