proba tlumaczenia - efekt Lucyfera

Lecz przemiana anioła — tego najważniejszego i najukochańszego Bogu — w diabła to w kulturze najdalej i najdramatyczniej idąca ewolucja postawy, myślenia, opisu świata.

Philip Zimbardo, a distinguished American psychologist known for conducting much research and providing concepts of human behaviour (especially in extreme situations), once propounded a theory, based on one of his tests, named the Lucifer Effect. Lucifer, being an angel beloved by God (the meaning of the word 'Lucifer' is 'bringer of dawn'), was descended into the depths of Hell as punishment for his revolt against the Absolute. The legend sets forth the creation of (such a horrible place as?) hell by good and gracious God. The transformation of the God's most important and beloved angel into a devil is the most dramatic and far-reaching evolution of attitude, thought and the depiction of world. The process and the causes of normal, common people in certain situations becoming beasts, bloodthirsty demons and sadistic degenerates have always interested Zimbardo. He perceives the Lucifer Effect as a metaphor for transformation of human personality which is dependent on circumstances, ideologies, religions, political believes, etc. Human values then become eclipsed(?), suppressed and overshadowed by utilitarianism and rational or irrational benefits.

Philip Zimbardo, a distinguished American psychologist known for conducting 'much' (cos mi sie to slowo tutaj nie za bardzo podoba) research and providing concepts of human behaviour (especially in extreme situations), once propounded a theory, based on one of his tests, (tu brak 2 slowa) named the Lucifer Effect. Lucifer, being 'an' (ja dalabym tutaj 'the') angel beloved by God (the meaning of the word 'Lucifer' is 'bringer of dawn'), was descended into the depths of Hell as punishment for his revolt against the Absolute.
The transformation of 'the' (niepotr) God's most important and beloved angel into a devil is the most dramatic and far-reaching evolution of attitude, thought and the depiction of (brak przedimka) world.
He perceives the Lucifer Effect as a metaphor for transformation of human personality which is dependent on circumstances, ideologies, religions, political believes, 'etc' (cos z tym 'etc' ja mam - nie wiem co to ma znaczyc tutaj, bo tematu na tyle nie znam, ale wiem, ze 'human personality dependent on etc' nie jest za dobrze).
Human values then become suppressed and overshadowed by utilitarianism and rational or irrational benefits.
Bardzo dziekuje terri.

1. conducting 'much' research - czy lepiej bedzie brzmialo jesli uzyje np. 'a good deal of[i/]'? Czy moge prosic Was o komentarz?

2.
based on one of his tests, (tu brak 2 slowa) named the Lucifer Effect - zmienilbym to zdanie na:
once propounded the Lucifer Effect theory, based on one of his tests

3. etc. - szukajac odpowiednika 'itd. znalazlem 3:
so on, so forth, etc. znaczace continuing in the same way. Czy 'so forth' bedzie brzmialo lepiej?

4. Mam jeszcze watpliwosci do tego zdania:
The process and the causes of normal, common people in certain situations becoming beasts, bloodthirsty demons and sadistic degenerates have always interested Zimbardo.
Czy na pewno jest poprawne? Wydaje mi sie, ze przekombinowalem :)
1. lepiej 'a good deal of'
2. once propounded the Lucifer Effect theory, based on one of his tests
3. znalazlem 3: so on, so forth, ...lepiej and 'so on.'
4. The process and the causes of 'normal, common' (cos tu nie tak, nie ma zadnych badan naukowych ktoreby udowodnily co to jest 'normal', a drugie, slowo 'common' generalnie jest uzywane jako pogarda w jez. ang, tutaj trzeba 'reasonably educated' albo 'reasonable people', tam masz jeszcze slowo 'szarzy na co dzien', a tego nie uwzgledniles w tlumaczeniu, - reszta zdania dla mnie ok.
Jeszcze raz dziękuję.
Cytat: labtes
