There is every chance of doing sth

Zwrot there is every/little/no chance of sb doing sth jest często używany do czasu przyszłego ale czy można go użyc w czasie przeszłym???Np.: There is every chance of me not having made the words out correctly-czy to zdanie jest ok???

Drugi problem jaki mam to:
This is the first time I have voted .
It was the first time I had eaten tuna.- to jest łatwe ,ale co jeśli chcemy powiedzieć:
'It will be the first time.........' czy czas future perfect byłby tutaj dobry?Np.It will be the first time I will have visited Nigeria.???
ok
present perfect

present perfect

mg, a czemu present perfect?

odniesienie jest do punktu w przyszlosci i to dopiero będzie pierwszy mój raz, a present perfect odnosi sie do teraźniejszosci, czyli do chwili wypowiedzenia tego zdania nigdy nie wyjezdzalem; tworzy sie miedzy punktem w przyszlosci a teraźniejszoscią pewien okres czasu, w ktorym moze dojsc do wyjazdu i wtedy zalozenie zdania z the first time nie bedzie juz prawdziwe.

a moze chodzi tu o samo the first, ktore funkcjonuje w zdaniu podobnie do before, the time, after, as soon as i po nim nie moze wystąpic czas future?

>tworzy sie miedzy punktem w przyszlosci a teraźniejszoscią pewien okres czasu, w ktorym moze dojsc do wyjazdu

Dobra, Future Perfect wymagałby dodania wyrażenia typu 'in five years', przy czym te pięć lat musiałoby być przyszłością w momencie wypowiedzenia takiego zdania. Zadowolony?
@dargdogg

“This will be the first time” tworzy tymczasowy punkt odnieseina/ domene w przyszlosci i jest zdaniem glownym, tak . Hence present perfect.

Ale jeśli przyjmiemy ze NP ‘the first time’ nie ma funkci adverbial i całość jest przedstawiona przez mowce jak dwa osobne, niezalezne stwierdzenia / przewidywanie w that-clause to future perfect is just fine.

This will be the first time ( that ) I will have visited ‘whatever’ .. and I’m looking forward to it - fine

I don’t have to ask any natives. Aside from the ‘teragodamnbytes’ of that native speech I take in every single day, there’s still this theory that backs it up with many examples from a pile of grammar books.

‘will’ after ‘before’ ?

p.s. i jest oczywiscie wiele przykladow z futre perfect w native speech after 'this will be the first time..'

If you'd have done... you'd have done...

I won't come to you before you will make the decision, czy cos jeszcze?

Declerck 'et al.' :) in his “The Grammar of the English Tense System - a Comprehensive Analysis” thinks otherwise . And it’s not an entirely descriptive analysis but quite the opposite.
On the other hand, coming from all these four-eyes professors , it may indeed sound like some theoretical gobbledygook sometimes.:)

@darkdogg

You will have to fill out this form before you will be able to enter the building.’

The subordinate before-clause form the above ‘becomes’ an apodosis in the conditional clause below
‘If you haven’t yet filled out this form, you will not be able …..’

Jeszcze w znaczeniu 'I'd rather do this than do this' like 'I'll die before I'll do this'

savagerhino,
I will take a look at the book, the title of which you revealed at the beginning before I will ask the next question on this theme. But I will have to know some examples on using 'after' in this way before I will do what I wrote above. :-)

What have I gotten myself into ? gag me with a spoon...No, don't do it, you don't need it. Like I said once, this is only theory, you'd better get yourself some 'live talking voices'. I'm serious.

p.s. and you can't tamper with 'before-will' thing like there's no tomorrow. It requires special context and in most cases present or perfect is always favored as an alternative.
