Lot = a legally defined parcel of land on which a house is located.
Yard(s), front yard and backyard = the portions of a lot unoccupied by the house footprint. The backyard is the yard behind the house; the front yard is the yard in front of the house. The driveway is usually part of the front yard.
Any portion of a yard (either front or back) that is set aside for cultivation (other than lawn) is a garden, e.g. front yard garden or backyard garden; backyard vegetable garden, flower garden in the front yard.)

Anything within a lot (or plot) that is unoccupied by the house footprint, is called “garden.” The driveway is usually part of the front garden.
