Well, call me stupid but I've tried it :D:D:D:D Not the consultation obviously as it's indeed expensive but a proper lesson. And I must say it's bloody good. You know, chatting to friends is quite nice _IF_ they can speak English as fluently as you do. But I study English Philology and chatting to my friends turned out to be rather awkward :> and chatting to people at school is not enough. If I tried chatting outside the school they would think I'm off my rocker. Anyway, I've chosen a speaking lesson as I think reading or grammar can be done single-handedly and it would be a waste of money. All went smoothly. At first, a few words about myself, then a discussion based on articles I got, and a discussion based on some questions (rather controversial - quite nice :D. I didn't receive them with the other materials so I had to speak off the cuff. A bit scary at first when you go yyyy aaaaa eeee but definatelly improves fluency) and finally comparing pictures+a few tips&tricks as you have to describe/compare pictures during the cambridge exams. I also got a list of vocabulary including collocations and vocabulary connected with the articles. Also, after the lesson I got some grammar+reading exercises although I didn't ask for them. That might have been a hint that I'm hopeless at grammar :D
So, I can't really slag them off. I bought a lesson with a native speaker and I got it. The guy knew what he was doing. I got loads of materials so I can't really say that it's not worth it.
That's all from me guys :)
