"The Pianist" was filmed in 2002 by Roman Polański, movie was based on book which has the same title and it was true story. The main character was played by Adrian Brody.
The movie is showing us tragic history of Polish and Jewish people in German occupation. We meet an ordinary man who is the title pianist, has family and got to the ghetto just because of his national orgin. It is a really touching story about cruel things that happend in Warsaw. Film got three Oscar awards: for directing, main character and script. I agree with first and third - Roman Polański made movie worthed to see, so did Ronald Harwood who written "The Pianist". Brody's play wasn't what I expected. That was mistake to put foregin actor in Władysław Szpilman character. Fact that actors were talking in english was negative, everywhere were polish words and headlines what made conversations untrue. Really positive was music in movie which had a big influance on end results ana made proper atmosphere.
Although there was a bit of weak points in movie I was captivated by this story. I highly reccomend it to everyone who wants to know the sad truth about polish history and those who know it only from books. If you are sensitive to people's sufferung ypu should see it for sure.
