W obu zdaniach mamy do czynienia z uogólnieniem. Czytający będzie zadawał sobie pytanie what t-shirts? i szukał wcześniejszego odnośnika do konkretnych koszulek, którego oczywiście nie ma.

W drugim zdaniu jest masło maślane. Z jednej strony wprowadzasz the w celu identyfikacji konkretnych wokalistów, a z drugiej strony występuje zwrot like (= such us) w celu podania przykładu.

Zgadza się. The nie powinno tam być.

Czytający będzie zadawał sobie pytanie what t-shirts? i szukał wcześniejszego odnośnika do konkretnych koszulek, którego oczywiście nie ma.

In the ‘t-shirts of his favorite bands’, ‘his favorite bands’ is obviously a postmodifier of t-shirts, right ? But it doesn’t necessarily make these t-shirts definite within the same of-construction just because it’s a modifier. It’s all about reference set up for the purpose of the text. The noun in the of-phrase doesn’t have to ALWAYS restrict the preceding noun, which is also called a ‘superordinate noun phrase’ and can be either definite or indefinite.

And another thing .. the English article system is the toughest bitch and latest to be acquired.:)

I should’ve replaced the verb ‘acquired’ with a more appropriate ‘dynamic’ verb to fit the context.
