Last Saturday something unexpected has happened to me. It was a chance of a lifetime. The weather was perfect, there were no clouds on the sky.
I woke up quite early and went to the kitchen. My mum was already there, waiting on me with a big cake. 'It's your day!' she exclaimed 'Happy birthday!' 'Thanks mum!" I responded beaming with joy. As soon as I had breakfast, the phone rang. It turned out that my performance in Must be the Music TV show, which I had to have on Wednesday had been changed for that day afternoon. It was an international show, which gave a chance to become famous through out the world.
Not more than few hours later I've been dressed and ready to set off. Mummy drove me to Cracow, where the event took place. The moment I entered the room for the singers, I overheard the speaker saying that I am to perform within five minutes. Hardly had I went on the stage and started singing, when some masked crimer attacked one of the jury. All of the people around started screaming. Immediately security guards surrounded the crimer and cought him. Unfortunately, the jury had been hurt, so the show was cancelled.
I was terrified and puzzled. The shocked public disappeared quickly. When my mum piked me home I answered the phone from the secretary of the event saying: 'Deep apologises. We welcome in the next edition.'

jury chyba się nie używa w takim kontekście, może nie mam racji;)
When my mum piked<-ORTORAF me home.... nawet jak poprawi, nie będzie dobrze, chyba że 'piked' nie jest słowem o którym myślę;)
