beside/besides

Jak to jest z tym beside/besides.Niby mówi się że beside to obok,a besides oprócz,ponadto,ale przecież słowniki podają że besides też może znaczyć obok.Gdzieś kiedyś czytałem że słowa te można stosować zamiennie ale podobno nie zawsze jest to wskazane. Zresztą właśnie przeczytałem w jakimś słowniku że beside może tez znaczyć oprócz:(

Oh, I would like to be beside the seaside,
Oh, I would like to be beside the sea,
And there's lots of things besides,
that I'd like to do beside,
beside the seaside, beside the sea.

Beside is a preposition, similar in meaning to 'next to', 'at the side of' or 'by.
Besides is a preposition, meaning 'in addition to', 'as well as' or 'apart from.
