Czesc. Mozecie mi powiedziec czym sie rozni there is no vs there is not ? Kiedy uzywamy ?
Np. There is no desk vs There is not a desk
Tym samym sie różni co zdania: "I will never do it." i "I will not do it ever." Albo "I see nothing." i "I do not see anything". Negację wyrażasz albo za pomocą operatora albo używając słowa zawierającego negację. Użycie słowa zawierajacego negacje jest generalnie bardziej emfatyczne. Poczytaj o zasadzie jednego przeczenia.
P.S. W twoim zdaniu powinno być "There is not ANY desk"

there is not a desk - jest poprawne
znaczy to samo, co 'there is no desk', ale jest takie bardziej literackie
Dziękuję :)
Pomyslalam:
There is not a shred of evidence that he is guiilty.
There is no evidence to suggest that he is guilty.
