Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in connection with “The Tatry Guidebook” published by your publication house in 2006. I used it during my trip around Tatry last week and I have some problems caused by the guidebook.

Firstly, the routes have wrong signs of difficulty. I chose one of the easiest routes, but unfortunately, it turned out much more difficult as I had expected. Some of my friends did not have an appropriate footwear and in consequence they were sliding on stones. One girl twisted her ankle.

Furthermore, on the maps there are marked non-existent chalets! We have been wandering to one of them for over 3 hours and we did not find it. Someone told us that this chalets had been closed 5 years ago! We were completely tired and we had to go look for another place for rest.

As you can imagine, I am extremely upset about “Tatry guidebook”.
I hope that in New edition of the guidebook you will included only checked and up-to-date information. I think that the best idea to achieve this is cooperation with guides and tourists.

Yours Faithfully,
Marta

Może tak być?
Jak znam siebie, to pewnie wkradły się tu jakieś błędy...
... The Tatry Guidebook (tu mozna dodac ktora wersja) published by ('by your publication')- najlepiej wymysl nazwe np Oxford in 2006. (Moze wydaja wiecej 'guidebooks').
...and I had unforeen/untold problems ('some'- daje wrazenie ze te problemy nie byly takie wazne) as a consequence of using the guidebook.
...routes have wrong (moze zamiast wrong to 'incorrect') signs of ...
..it turned out to be much more difficult than I had expected.
..did not have the appropriate footwear..
Furthermore, the maps show non-existent chalets. We had been (czas przeszly) wandering around to try and find one of these chalets for over 3 hours....
..that these chalets were closed.......had to go and look for another...
...you will include checked ... I believe that one of the best ways to achieve this would be with cooperation ... .
Dziękuję bardzo za pomoc :D.

Mam odnośnie tego sprostowania 2 pytanka...

1) We had been wandering "around to try and find" one of these chalets...
aruond to try and find.. nie rozumiem po co jest to and?

a moze dobrze byłobyby dobrze tak:
We had been wandering around trying to find one of these chalets...
(try + infinitive = to attempt a difficult action)

2)Someone told us that this chalets were closed 5 years ago!

no i mamy passiv voice w reported speach :)
ja napisałam, że "chalets had been closed", bo cofnęłam jeden czas do tyłu zgodnie z zasadą reportet speach...
Jak to jest passiv voice to się tego nie robi?
'trying to find' - jest dobrze - moze lepiej
'these (l.mnoga) chalets....
A z tym reported speech to jest ciekawie - bo tutaj notujesz slowa ktore ktos powiedzial - ale wyobraz sobie ze spotykasz ludzi i pytasz ich - a oni odpowiadaja 'these chalets had been closed' czy 'these chalets were closed' - znalazlam w moim 'grammar' ze mozna uzywac simple past tense w reported speech np-
'Then the next day he said he no longer loved me'
'John said there was a meeting planned...'
przygladnelam sie lepiej temu zdaniu: Someone told us that these chalets had been closed 5 years ago' - mysle, ze to nie jest 'passive' dlatego, ze 'short passive constructions are formed with the auxiliary 'be' and an 'ed' participle' (were closed) a 'long passives with a 'by phrase' - (we were told by...) a w tym zdaniu tego nie widze.
No wlaśnsie sobie wyobraziłam tą sytuację..

Direct speach:
Someone told us: that this chalet was closed.

Indirect speach:
Someone told us that this chalet had been closed. -> z następstwa czasu

Tylko nie wiem czy jak w mowie zależnej występuje passiv to też tak jest :).
Chyba nie mam nawet odpowiedniej książki, zeby to sprawdzić..
Moze tak:
Direct speech: Someone told us: ' the chalets were closed' (bez 'that')
Indirect speech: 'We were told by someone that the chalets had been closed' (tutaj na stronie - mowa zalezna - past simple zamienia sie w past perfect- (had been closed) - ale twoje zdanie: 'Someone told us ...' to nie bylo 'passive' - 'passive' to 'We were told 'by' someone....
Teraz to tak wyglada - w mowie zaleznej (reported speech) gdy jest passive (zasady wyzej napisalam) to jest czas 'past perfect'.
