Z gory dzieki : /
>"jest ci zimno"

You can say either "are you cold?" or "do you feel cold"

>miejsce operacji - operating theatre ?

yes, or operating room

>przyczyna wielu chorób - ?

>"zranił sie w noge" - cause of many illnesses (not sure about this one though)

he hurt his leg
I meant przyczyna wielu chorób - cause of many illnesses (not sure about this
one though) and "zranił sie w noge" - he hurt his leg
Are you cold?
sala operacyjna = the operating theatre
the cause of many illnesses/diseases
he got his leg hurt/injured
Wielkie dzieki tylko to z zimnem mialo bcy twierdzace ;) Zapomnialem dopisac.
engee30, "he got his leg hurt" - doesn't it imply that someone did it to him
:)?
You're right, bednar - somebody or something else may have caused him to feel a pain in his leg. Using causative HAVE (or GET alternatively) usually implies that a person or thing was affected by somebody/something else; similarly, the passive voice is used.
I thought as much. In Polish when we say "zraniłem się w noge" we mean that it was our fault , in other words " no one else caused a pain", right ? If we wanted to say that a pain we fell had been caused by someone else we'd say "wpadł na mnie i upadlem" or sth like this, right? Polish is all Greek to my so I have decided to learn English :)))

* Hence I'd write I hurt my leg instead of I got my leg hurt:)
