§ Hello!
§ Hello! I’m calling with regard to your advertisement in our local newspaper. It says that you would like to rent a room. Is that correct?
§ Yes. That’s right.
§ I’m a student and I need a room for a year … or longer. For how long would you like to rent your room?
§ I was thinking of all next year but it’s possible to stay there longer. It’s my son’s room and he moved to Warsaw because of a new job and I think he’ll stay there longer.
§ That would be great for me. Can you tell me if the room is spacious and bright and what’s the view from the windows?
§ Yes, of course. The room is quite big, there’s a bed, a desk, a wardrobe, some bookshelves on the walls and a carpet on the floor. It’s really bright, there are two windows in the east and south of the room. Outside you can see the park and the river.
§ That’s great because I usually jog in the morning. Is there any balcony?
§ Yes, there’s one in my room but generally I don’t let other people there.
§ I understand. Could I use the kitchen and the bathroom?
§ Sure, you could use them any time you would like to.
§ And one more question. Are neighbors and the area quiet because I think I’ll learn a lot?
§ It’s really quiet. Neighbors are rather old, there’s only one child in the flat below. And as I said outside there’s a big park, no big main streets, schools or supermarkets, only some shops and a small market where you can get fresh fruit and vegetables.
§ All that you’ve said sounds great. I think I’ll take that room. Could we meet and discuss more details. I’d like to see the room too.
§ Of course! Tomorrow at 4 p.m. will be OK?
§ Fine. See you then.
§ Good bye!
