whats the difference between perspiration and sweat?is perspiration used instead of , for instance, effort or sth like this? can I say : "the perspiration was running down my face?" or can I only use "sweat" in this meaning?

`perspiration ` is formal,more euphemistic.
it means `sweat` or `the act of sweating`

-beads of perspiration glistened on his brow
-beads of perspiration ran down my face
-excessive,profuse perspiration

Women perspire, men sweat ;)

Horses sweat, men perspire and women blush to men's desire.

Horses sweat. Gentlemen perspire, ladies glisten. :)
