Niebardzo. To zwrotne \'sie\' nie jest w ang. tak powszechne jak w polskim. Pare niezbyt zgrabnych, ale szybkich przykladow do porownania :

Summer turns into fall - lato zmienia sie (przechodzi) w zime (tylko stwierdzenie faktu, naturalnej kolejnosci rzeczy)
Summer turns itself into fall - lato przmienia siebie w jesien (zintensyfikowana personifikacja lata, widac jego decyzje lub/i wole przemiany).

Summer turns to high - lato podkreca sie na maksa (stwierdzenie faktu)
Summer turns itself to high - lato podkreca siebie na maksa (bo tak chce; nacisk na personifikacje lata)

You hurt yourself - meczysz siebie
