Artur/engee: Let us turn the tables somewhat. Let's imagine for a minute that this was a forum dedicated to the teaching/learning of the Polish language.
And I, with my obvious "lamany polski" turn to you and ask: "Is "poszlem" correct? I hear it on the streets everywhere. In fact 57.3335673% (obviously fabricated) of the population uses it in their speech. It MUST be correct. Native speakers use the term/expression and I even heard it in a film/video/song."
I suspect you would correct me, because you respect the Polish language and you respect my desire to learn another (difficult) language properly. And what if other members (non-natives ironically) of the forum started mocking you for CARING about your language and CARING about teaching others to speak it properly? "Hej bracie wyluzuj, czemu sie tak czepiasz itd...
How would you feel?
This site is dedicated to the learning/teaching of English. I feel a sense of responsibility to NOT close one eye and let poor/lazy/non-standard use of English pass, especially by early learners. Others share my view.
Artur/engee, I don't propose to teach you anything or prove anything to you. Your mastery of English is advanced. What I do ask is for you to allow me (and others) to teach those who come and visit this forum the proper use of English and to do so without being mocked or having our efforts undermined. OK?
