policzalny czy nie?

Proszę o pomoc!!!!!!!!!!
Chodzi mi o słówko food and jewellery są to rzeczowniki policzalne czy nie?
W obu wypadkach: nie.

Some food, a liitle food, much food, a large quantity of food.

Some jewelery, much jewellery , an expensive piece of jewellery, articles of jewellery, a little jewellery.
oba słowa sa nie policzalne gdyż mówimy ogólnie o jedzeniu i biżuterii.

konkretnie - apple, pear, etc or bracelet, ring, etc - te już byłyby policzalne
niepoliczalne oczywiście :)
food może być policzalne:
avoid fatty foods
jednak - jak mi sie wydaje - nie używa się "a food" w liczbie pojedynczej
most nouns nowadays (practically all with the exception of abstract nouns) which used to be noncount can be used as count nouns. a few examples i've recently noticed:

homeworks
fruits
jewleleires

many people don't approve of these changes, but these changes are imminent. in fact, many schools already assign 'homeworks' instead of 'homework assignments'. also, 'fruits' is already used in esl books.
more:

sugars (NOT as in 'chemical substance', in which it's always been count: 'glucose and lactose are sugars'),

waters (NOT as in 'content of rivers, alkes and other bodies of water but in 'bottled waters' - although here, it means more 'kinds of bottled water', compare 'foods').

plus a couple classic ones (most are obvious):

wines, meats, milks, creams
(evidently, in some cases it means 'kinds of', or 'containers of'.
i used a shortcut in my first msg: by 'abstract nouns' i meant such nouns as: information (never seen with an -s), advice (seen this one with an -s!!!)etc. i believe 'abstract nouns' is a much wider category which also comprises nouns like: love, life, death, relationship, friendship (which can be count).
