Nice hobby...Kasiul please write me one thing- do they need any teachers in N.Z.? How much does a teacher earn?
They need teachers (as many other skilled people :-) )but i think that you should pass some exams or something to proove you are suitable :-) So you should come here and pass exams or do some courses on uni (not sure) and then find a job :-) I am not 100 % cause - i was into all immigration laws 1 year ago - and right after getting our permanent residency they changed law... Should look here: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/
There should be somewhere on this site a list of needed occupations...
But I see heaps of ads in the paper about getting a job as a teacher in Japan for example... A friend of mine is a teacher in Korea and he is very happy about it...
Teachers can get very good money - another friend of mine is an english teacher here and she's got 3 kids and a husband and she is the only one who works (when he got a job it turn out that all he got went for kindergardens and babysitters so he is full time housekeeper and father-babysitter :-) ). Maybe they are not rich but not poor either... Hope that helps...
I agree with you. It`s true that the Japanise etc. need a lot of teachers. Some Friends of mine (they are Japanise) told me that there is a shortage of English teachers in Japan especially in Tokio. True, there are many people who study English at university but for them it`s very hard to learn English (either for us to learn Japanise:) ) In fact people who are said in Japan that they speak very well English are mostly at a intermided or upper-intermidet level. I met a Japanise who told me that she is a translator in Japan but in fact she couldn`t speak English better then my friends who aren`t thought that they speak English very well. It`s a problem for them. Moreover, Japanise are good in writing, grammar (especially when it is necessary to learn something by heard) but they have hardly an idea about speaking skills. In result, a foreigner (especially from Europe) who can speak English is considered to be a native speaker (it`s not important wheather he comes from France or Germany). Beacuse of that they are willing to pay hell of money for having provate lessons to people who can speak English.
Thanks for your posts.Teaching in Japan sounds thrilling to me:) but the bad thing is, that I DON'T know even one single word in Japan. But I had a Japanese friend who, I must admitt, wasn't very good at speaking, so I agree with you , Nowaczek.I'll try this address to N.Z.of course and it's nice to read that there are a lot of ads with job for teachers.
But I've heard that the kids are incredibly bad- behaved...so think twice!
Have you ever been to any Polish school? Even a private one? Are you a teacher?
Yes I HAVE I'm a student myself:)))
When did you decide to become a teacher? Do you fell fulfilled? I ask it because it`s the last thing I would do in my life... Ok, probably I exaggerate it a little but in my opinion it`s a very hard job. I know it because we always make fun of some of the teachers in our school and talk behind their back`s. I divide teachers in two groups. Some of them are very good, they try to teach us, are very demanding and abitious. Both I like them and esteem. Unfortunately, there are a lot of teachers, who don`t care about the pupils. I hope that you belong to the first group:) The point is that I consider this job as an ungrateful one. Probably I am wrong (you know it better, because you are a teacher). I wouldn`t have enought patient to cope with it and because of that I admire you for being a teacher:) If I were you I would probably kill all your students after a week:)
Another point is that we should do in our lifes only that what we like. If someone consider himself as a dustman and if he is smuged with it - everything is OK. The worse is that some teachers consider themselfs as `real teachers` but in fact they aren`t. It`s a big disadvantage in the Polish education system that you can`t sack a teacher after employing him. In a result sometimes teachers don`t care about the pupils because they know that they can`t be sacked. They have hardly any motivation to teach them. If the headmaster could sack bad teachers they would do everything to ' show off ' and would become better. Unfortunately, politics care more about elections (they are a very influential electorate) then about our education. What can we do then? Try to do the best of it :)
>When did you decide to become a teacher? Do you fell fulfilled? I ask

Hi, Nowaczek:)
Though this question is not directed towards me, there's something I'd like to say here.
For a very long time I dreamt of being a translator. Well, maybe not my whole life, but for long - that's for sure. So.... I studied hard, I spent lots of money on postgraduate tranlslation studies, I practiced etc. The outlook was quite good....

Well, now I do some translations.... Quite good, I would say. My English is very good. So is my Polish.... (unless I write some sloppy emails...:) I'm good at writing. I'm hard working. As far as my verbal reasoning is concerned - it's far above average.

The only problem is, as I discovered one day, I hate working at home with my computer. I simply cannot sit and just work like that all day - literally, it makes me sick. At the same time, I discovered, quite to my amazement, that I enjoy teaching. And I do like my students - really nice people. I like working with people.
If someone had told me years ago my life would turn out like that - I wouldn't have believed.

That's all I wanted to say. And now, unfortunately, I've got to go back to my translation:)))
Br - about teaching in Japan - the trick is you don't have to know Japanese! They prefer eglish speaking people so then students are made to make an effort of learning... In those ads it's clearly stated - knowledge of Japanese not necessary - you can learn here, we don't need japanese tachers but english teachers... And so on and so on... So - maybe worth giving a thought? :-)
I understand you never considered to become a teacher, did you? In my opionion it`s another point, because I like your job (being a teacher and you are satisfied with it). In my last post I wrote that there are two groups of teachers. The first ist abitious etc. Probably, teachers from the second group have become teachers by accident. I understand know that you belong to the first group... The point is that you should do in your life something that helps to fulfill yourself. Becoming a teacher is a way to fulfill for some but of course not for all. Another point is that the salary are bad. You can probably say a lot about it. Because of that you are a translator as well, I think. Don`t fell like becoming a teacher. I know that it`s sometimes fun (my sister-in-law is a teacher at high school). I know that teaching can give you a lot of self-satisfaction because of all you have done but it not for me... As well as you I like spending time with people and talking to them. If I had another source of incomes I would consider to become a teacher. For example my sister-in-law`s friend is a teacher at high school. Apart from that he is a translator, has his own company and gives private lessons. He don`t have to work at school but he likes it. He likes the pupils as well as you but he doesn`t care about salaries because it`s a low income source comparing with the profit from his company.
Because of that I will go to Japan after improving my english skills :) I am honest. I would like to go to Japan for one year or something like that. My firend told me that the ticket costs only 1500 Euro ( I get 15 Euro pocket money a month :) 1500/15=100 Months, 100/12= 8,(3).
It means that in 8,(3) (I love mathematics :) years time I am going to Japan!!!! I am looking forward to going there :)
Nowaczek:honestly, I'VE NEVER considered to be a teacher but that's life, exactly like a box of chocolates-you will never know what you gonna get;) do you recognize this quotation? You can also improve your quotation by working as a teacher in Poland-it's not too bad when your students are ok and you can earn up to 3000zl a month in a private school.By the way , it's always good to have some experience!
I didn't know about it!!!! Do you perhaps know any internet address to find out more?I would be really grateful:))))
There you go my darling :-) www.teachinjapan.com - search net a bit cause i remembered that Korea is doing the same... So should be plenty of stuff like that... Hope that helps :-)
Thanks a lot!!!
Your cousin is really nice!!!I've got a letter from her!!!!
see - now you've got a lot of things to think about - being an au pair in England, teach in Japan or teach in Poland :-) I know she is nice - it's family thing :-) :-) :-) Goes from generation to generation :-) :-) :-)
Dear Kasiul, there are far more options- believe me!It isn't strange that I often have headaches;)and it's not easy to live with me.I checked this site about teaching in Japan and sent my application but my expectations aren't very high- they obviously prefer natives. But I keep searching!
"There are so many options, there's just one solution"- will you ever decide? Or not? Or maybe I'm too nosy:)?
Yes, you are; if I ever decide I won't tell you, at least not the details.Believe me , it's not easy to be in such a position.
I hope you're not angry with me- I meant no offence, honestly...
headachy person :-) i bet the pharmaceutical business is well because of you :-)
Yes, I spend about 100 zl every month , sometimes more! Kasiul you're a soothsayer! How did you know? Or maybe it was intended for this impossible Normal?:)
I'd like to come up with an idea of the contest for the longest topic... And this one is certainly in the lead ;] And by writing this post I have also contributed to this record, even though I have never managed to all the 205 (?) posts...
>managed to all the 205 (?) posts...

to READ
Well unintentionally it could related to you both - BUT it was related to you Br :-) Me????? Soothsayer????? Maybe i got it from my mother in law who is some kind of "szaman" . Anyway she has a gift of foretelling some pieces of the future - she's really good with career things (every time we change somthing with our careers we ask her, then she does some abracadabra with cards and stuff and we know what to do, she didn't make even one mistake!!!!!!!)
Cheerios Soothsayer Kasiool :-) :-) :-)
Now I'm really afraid of you and your mother in law;)Szaman is in English a medicine man, by the way:) But , to tell you the truth, I don't believe in all this supernatural stuff- people create their fate themselves, look at me...:)
Ha, i am not so sure about calling her medicine man :-) :-) Though she is not some blair witch or other astrology animal - she just can predict some things in a way of... well she just feels things and that's all. Though recently she just wandered off a bit and some GURU is trying to get her money (money she doesn't have :-) ) or rather i should say her house. But thanks to gods or clouds or whatever father in law is in action :-) But we had moments of madness... Grrrrrrrrr
