One of my favourite TV shows is Being Human
- an excellent British comedy-drama about a vampire, werewolf and ghost who share a flat in Bristol.
What I like best about this show is that it treats
the topic of supernatural beings in a very fresh and original way.
Mitchell - the vampire and George - the werewolf
, work as
a hospital porters. Mitchell is almost one hundred
years old and remembers WWI. He tries to
avoid vampirism temptationto restrain/avoid his vampiric drives, while other vampires try to persuade him to join them. He doesn't drink blood anymore and because of that he is slightly weaker than other vampires.
Most of the time
, George, who left home after he
had got infected with
a/the werewolf virus, is
a shy
, sympathetic man
, but (
at) every full moon he turns into a
bloodthirsty beast. George dates one of the nurses who he works with, Nina. She doesn't know about his condition and George tries very hard to hide it from her.
Even
that though vampires have a strong hatred towards werewolves, seeing them as dirty and crude (cruel?), Mitchell and George are best friends.
Last but not least, Annie,
the past (lepiej chyba former) owner of
the flat George and Mitchell moved in,
is haunting said flathas been haunting the flat since the day she died in a very mysterious way. Before she met George and Mitchell, she wasn't (albo: she hadn't been) visible to others and because of that she was lonely and suffered from low confidence. After developing a friendship with those two, she turned back into a happy and cheerful girl.
All three of them are trying to function in the real world
, but
with every day
it is
getting harder and harder for them. Not only because other vampires and werewolves are getting
into their way
, but some humans
, afraid of them and their strength and abilities
, are tryingtry to get rid of them.
Being Human is intelligent, dark and funny. It's one of the best TV shows I've seen so far and definitely my favourite.
