he Movie "Max and Mary" directed by Adam Elliotna is based on a true story, which is the opening information. This animated film is creepy sometimes, prevail dark colours and it seems to be really bleak but it gives us many life advices.
Title characters are loners. Mary is barely eight years old but nobody loves her, even parents. Max is a forty-four overweight man and he has Asperger syndrome. He found the recipe himself of "Chocolate hot-dogs" and he is stowing away everyday. Oneday Mary randomly picked the Max number from phone book and send a letter to him. That is how the perennial friendship starts which will be very hard for them.
Despite doom and gloom, depressing setting and also black humor, movie is really constructive. The meaning of the film reads that we have to accept people as they are and stop changing them at a push. Then they will return the favour the same. "Mary and Max" shows us how firendship is important in our lives. Family gives us fate, we can't choose them. But with friends is differently. We can pick them how we want.
Nevertheless those life advices film gives particular case. Action goes on in 70-80s, without technology that we have at this moment. Mary and max are sending letters, not e-mails or SMS like we. We can send thousend of messages each day but did it contribute to gorwth of friendship rate in the world? I don't think so.
I think everyone should watch this movie just to see how hard and lovely friendship can be
