Dubrovnik in Croatia is actually one of the most beautiful townS in
Europe, but just few years ago, 'there' (lepiej dac 'it') was absolutely different. 'Because' (Ja nielubie zaczynac zdan z 'because' - to powinno sie uzywac do laczenia czesci tego samego zdania, chociaz widze, ze mnostwo ludzi juz uzywa to).Lepiej...This was due to.. the war which 'was' (was, nie daje tego wrazenia co to bylo...lepiej 'raged') in THE BalcanS WHEN all OF Croatia include Dubrovnik was destroyed.
I had a chance to be in Dubrovnik 'after a year' (nie, a year after-rok pozniej) 'since' (nie, AFTER) the war had 'finished' (nie, lepiej daj 'ended'). What I saw was really 'horrible' (moze lepsze slowo 'terible'). In all OF THE town there was not a single buIlding without holes and 'others' (other) signs of war. Even THE old part of this medieval town was damaged. Some partS of this town looked like there were from a different planet. Burned houses without 'roofes'(sprawdz l. mnoga) and many bricks 'lieing' on the street. But the worst thing was that you could easily 'found' (FIND-czas przeszly) 'non-exploded' (unexploded) bombs. The oldest part OF Dubrovnik was in A better condition. That looked 'quite good' (za kolok- lepiej ..less damaged) compared with 'others' (other) areas. Shops and even 'caffees' (cafes) were being opened. People 'was' (was to l. poj - a people-to l. mnoga...tutaj people WERE) trying to 'pass a' (return to A) normal life.
Last summer I had got another opPortunity to visit Dubrovnik. I just
could not 'belevied' (sprawdz, ale podam BELIEVE) how many changes Croatians 'did' (had managed to do). THE entire old part of Dubrovnik was rebuilt. THE old part of town is 'a' (niepotrz 'a') completely normal with
many 'turist' (sprawdz w slowniku). Croatians 'leaved' (nie, to czas niereg - they LEFT) a couple of buldingS without renovation.
That is a 'sign' (lepiej a reminder) of THE war and also another 'turistic' (sprawdz, jak to slowo sie pisze) aTtractions. 'Others' (Nie, OTHER) partS of Dubrovnik haVE also changed. There are many modern buldings and
a great new (football?)stadium.
Dubrovnik is 'definietely' (ortog) one of the most beautiful places in Europe.
If we compare 'that' (to znaczy dzisiejszy stan-ale tego nie napisales) with THE state IN which IT was A few years ago, it is just unbelievable.
