nie, chodzilo mi o to ze odpisuje na list ktory jest odpowiedzia na moje zazalenie (complain) z dnia 12 bla bla bla.

Komplikujesz sobie życie niepotrzebnie. Tak jak napisałam jest dobrze.

Uparty jesteś więc możesz napisać I am writing in reply to your response dated January 12, 2009.

response zamiast letter.

In response to your letter dated 29 of Feb

a moze byc tak:
"I write to your letter of 10 February 2009 about my claim compensation"
?

I am writing - jak już

to your letter - bez sensu, musi być in response to your letter (data musi być) concerning my comensation/damages for...

ogólnie:

I am writing in response to your letter dated 10 February, 2009 concerning my compensation/damages for... (i tu podajesz za co)

żądać odszkodowania (czasownik) = claim/seek compensation
