Iren Sendler was born in 15 February 1910 and she died in 12 May 2008. She was a polish social worker during World War II. She got Righteous Gentile medal which was the biggest Israelite award given to non-Jews.

Life
Her father, Stanisław Krzynowski was a doctor who had lots of poor Jewish patients. During the war Iren worked in Town Social Service. She started to help Jews long before the rising of Warsaw ghetto. Żegota resistance organization nominated her to manageress of children department. She had a pass to ghetto and she wore Star of David as a symbol of solidarity with Jews.
She was arrested in 1943 by Gestapo and sentenced to death, but Żegota organization saved her by bribing German guards.
After the war she worked for children. She created few orphanages and institution to help unemployed families.

Project Life in Jar
In 1999 american teacher Norman Conard from Unitown in Kansas inspired to create new school theatre play titled “Life in a Jar”, which refer to method of how information about origin of saved children kept.
Performance based on facts from biography of Iren Sendler was shown about 200 times in USA and Poland. The fame of the show led to beginning of foundation Life in Jar.
In 2006 Holocaust Children Society with foundation Life in Jar and foreign minister of RP created an award by the name of Iren Sendler titled “For making good world”.
