Would better / had better

Temat przeniesiony do archwium.
Jakie są między tymi zwrotami różnice, kiedy się uzywa pierwszego a kiedy drugiegi bo zgupiałem.

Dzięki z góry
had better = lepiej by bylo, gdyby/ lepiej niech../lepiej sie../ etc.
(it has a sense of recommendation or threat)

you'd better shut up (..before somebody else shuts you up)
I'd better shut up (..before I say something stupid).
you'd better quit smoking soon (because you wheeze and cough so badly).
your boyfriend is such a deadbeat. You'd better find yourself another one.
you'd better sit down before I tell you something sensational (so you don't fall over when you hear it)

would better - ???
dla niektorych to chyba to samo co 'would rather'. Zamiast 'wolalbym raczej' mowia 'wolalbym lepiej'.
najgorsze jest to ze i would i had pisze sie takim samym skrotem czyli 'd

btw co znacza te dwa zdania bo ich nie rozumiem:

>your boyfriend is such a deadbeat. You'd better find yourself another
>>your boyfriend is such a deadbeat. You'd better find yourself
>another

twój chłopak to taki leń. Lepiej sobie znajdź innego.
