Co oznacza slowo backup ale w potocznej mowie ?

bez calego zdania trudno powiedziec np. 'We always do a backup of our files'.

Some posters have driven me to distraction lately. Hard not to "snap" a little. Some (the minority) really do need a reality check.

well, you're definitely pretty persistent in trying to cram some knowledge into others' heads, you really are (and I mean all the old nicks that I recognise;)

terri: not sure if you were "lurking" while on your hiatus, but you can't imagine the various tiffs that went on around here (some among long time posters). It was as if someone put something in the water which made everyone "testy". Of course that oh-so-famous stubborn Polish pride reared its ugly head, and nobody would concede an inch. Hopefully, June brings better dispositions.
