In my opinion, a good translator is one person who knows the foreign language and its passionate . A good translator should also be able to use their mother tongue , to know his style , grammar rules , spelling , etc. Lack of knowledge of the native language results in the translating text from a foreign language into Polish directly move the structure from a foreign language to be translated by us into the target language text (eg order in a sentence ), which is not always neatly .
Interpreter should be characterized by a certain creativity, especially literary . After all, not everything can be neatly translated into Polish as the original. What is needed is creativity , great erudition and knowledge of pop culture , so you can find the right context that is comprehensible to the reader.
A good translator to keep updating their knowledge , verify and ensure that the translated something right . Not afraid of the criticism from the other translators and collected from them advice, guidance. Besides, I think a good translator is one who is not afraid to admit that he did not know something , but it does not stop him from finding the answers. It is tenacious , meticulous and likes his job .
