Jak w języku angielskim nazwać glany? ;>
Combat boot
Chodz mi o jakąś taką dokładniejszą nazwę; combat boots odnosi się do butów wojskowych w ogóle. Jakieś pomysły? ;>
dokładniejsza nazwa:
bovver boots - glany.
Uzywa sie tez okreslenia "Dr Martens" + boots, footwear, etc.

Ooops! No to teraz masz opcji do wyboru ;-))
Z tymi glanami to ciekawa sprawa.

No dobra. Poszlam bylam w googla i znalazlam the following:

"The once ultra conservative Dr Martens shoes became the trademark of urban youth excited by violence in Doc Martens. Urban warriors are not the invention of the Eighties but were in evidence much earlier on in history. Bootboys were common place in the seventeenth century and used to terrorises the highways of the time. Doc Martens were also the first cross over shoes of the twentieth century and became a unisex fashion. In the history of modern footwear unisex styles are usually short lived and often occur at a time of depression or down turn in economy. The Pope has ordered several pairs of Doc Martens. When Bill Griggs persuaded the German parent company to let him manufacture workman's protective boots with the air cushioned sole at his factory in Northampton in the 1960's little did he know what would be the outcome. DM has become the uniform of youth harnessing the aggression of the storm tropper into the macho urban dwellers. British skinheads made it their own in the seventies and used the DM as Bovver Boots with which to shake the complacency of the bourgeoisie. This failed because the style was readily adopted by all youths and became a unisex phenomenon. The effect of ambivalence presents the ultimate paradox of style, worn by women and gays the shoes at one level project the macho aggressiveness which belies the real feelings of the wearer. It is indicative of the confusion of roles and the blurring of distinctions that a boot with such down to earth origins."

O, jeszcze to:

'Bovver boots' are footwear designed to intimidate and injure, or give the impression of doing so, or even make an ironic comment on this; the term is British and dates from the late-60s, during a time when it was fashionable to be a skinhead. Alex and his Droogs from 'A Clockwork Orange' wore 'bovver boots', the first, skinhead, incarnation of Slade were bovver-booted, and such boots became even more popular during the punk era. 'Bovver' is an attempt to capture the cockney pronounciation of 'bother'.
Bovver boots are typically chunky, made of leather, with steel toecaps. The archetypal manufacturer of such footwear is Doctor Martens (sometimes mis-spelled as 'Doctor Martins'), and such boots are usually referred to as Doc Martens or DMs regardless of who made them.
